Use this page before a fresh Windows install of Shadow Dungeon. The free demo is Steam app 4563350, store date 13 April 2026, parent 4423580. Update 0. 4. 0 on 2 May 2026 added a new chapter, 10 bosses, 30 levels, and 24-language localization, then stated the demo would receive no further major updates. The paid client is Steam 1. 0 on 26 August 2026. Steam lists Full controller support, Steam Cloud, Save Anytime, and Family Sharing. The launch note adds Steam Deck-specific button configurations, larger fonts, and scaled-down maps. Check the live Steam store page for current price; do not freeze a launch discount.

Trailer and first combat stills

OO Cat’s official trailer is the two-minute YouTube upload b13j_MeLd28, the same highlight listed on the Steam movies payload as Shadow Dungeon trailer. Watch it here before you pick a class; it is mood and scale, not a keybind table. Steam never published an official keybind list or an in-game tutorial transcript. What you can verify from store categories is Full controller support, Camera Comfort, Custom Volume Controls, Playable without Timed Input, Save Anytime, Stereo Sound, and Contrast controls. Those flags sit next to Single-player. There is no multiplayer or co-op category on app 4423580.

Screenshot 2 is a skull-pillar dungeon with a lightning beam, exploding orbs, Chinese loot labels, and the red-blue HUD. Screenshot 9 is a purple crystal waste with a running hero, a spiked brazier, and scattered magic circles. Use those stills as a first-run visual: isometric tile, large packs, and a HUD that already prints Chinese item names even when you play in English. They are not named rooms and they are not a walkthrough.

How the five checks map to official facts

The checklist above is the first-run contract for this page. Demo install is app 4563350. Class pick is the store/YouTube split. Controller is category 28 plus the Deck overlay in the launch note. Town stash is screenshot 14 plus the inventory-page claim. Cloud is category 23. Developer OO Cat described the 0. 0 demo as their first game; that post also froze major demo updates. If you already own 1. 0, you can skip the demo check and still use the other four.

Steam Deck users should treat the launch-note overlay as the first-party control claim: button configurations, larger fonts, scaled-down maps. That is not a community layout. Camera Comfort and Contrast controls are store categories 67 and 82. Custom Volume Controls is 68. Playable without Timed Input is 74, which matters if you expected a strict action-timing gate; the store lists that flag rather than a parry window table.

Town stash, inventory pages, and named Mage items

Screenshot 14 is the town hub still: three NPCs, open inventory and stash grids, paper-doll gear, and a Chinese refresh-items control. Official copy says inventory pages unlock through quests and the warehouse has unlimited pages. Screenshot 6, also on this route, splits Mage Items Realm Ender and Stellar Nebula Cataclysm at level 59 with affix blocks, gem sockets, and skills Thunderous Fury, Hellfire, and Flamestrike. Those two names are screenshot examples, not a complete item database. Sets are 15 unique armor sets per class. Reforging, Enchanting & Enhancement is named on the complete content list without published formulas.

Loot generation is over 100,000,000 pieces from 3,200 base templates, with more than half of equipment carrying additional skills. Monster levels and item drops are tied to the map instead of the player level, so a first-run character does not outlevel a later chapter by grinding one tile. After story cap 100, the Paragon Talent Tree unlocks. Unlimited skill points are in store copy, which is why a first-run class pick is about the three screenshot-grouped trees, not about a scarce respec currency.

Build notes that survive the first hour

Pick a class by both names before you install. Sorcerer is Mage on YouTube, grouped on ss-15 with Hell Messenger, Storm Lord, and Arcanist. Holy warrior is Paladin, ss-17 Blade Master / Holy Light / Apocalypse. Archer is Ranger, ss-19 Windwalker / Doomsday Disciple / High Elf. Necromancer keeps the same English noun, ss-21 Undead Emissary / Void Sorcerer / Corrupt Priest. Store blurbs are one line each: master elemental magic; wield dual blades; strike with deadly precision; summon demons and skeletons. Planned classes Assassin, Engineer, Barbarian, and Warlock are store roadmap bullets, not shipped options.

Languages: 24 Steam entries each marked interface, full audio, and subtitles, including Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese under the official title 暗影地牢. Vietnamese and Indonesian are not on that list. Steam Cloud and Save Anytime cover the Windows client. Family Sharing is on. No first-party redeem-code list was found on store, news, YouTube, or X at the 27 August 2026 capture. Official copy also states there are no microtransactions. If a later post adds a code, it will need a new first-party source; this page does not invent one.

Minimum Windows specs on the store payload are Windows 7, i5-4460 or Ryzen 5 2400G, 8 GB RAM, GTX 960 or RX 460, DirectX 11, 10 GB. Recommended RAM is 16 GB with GTX 2060 or RX 5700 and 15 GB disk. Those numbers belong on Steam Edition with the rest of the feature flags; they are listed here so a first install is not a surprise. Stereo Sound is category 69. Playable at your own pace is category 80. If you want the four class videos before you click Play, they are on Classes with store-versus-YouTube columns.

A first descent is not a walkthrough. Steam never named the rooms. Use the checklist, the stash still, and the official trailer, then jump to Realms for the six environment phrases or Campaign for the 7 / 160 / 30–50 hour clock. Greater Rifts wait until the story is done. Promo codes are a FAQ no. Price is the live store. Reviews are the dated Very Positive 244/278 aggregate, not a cherry-picked quote from the 283 discussion threads. Screenshot 6 on this route is the Mage Items split if you want to see named loot before you leave town. Screenshot 2 is the HUD with Chinese labels. Screenshot 9 is the crystal waste run. Those three stills plus the stash frame are the first-run visual set.

Checklist ids are stable: check-demo, check-class, check-controller, check-stash, check-cloud. Progress copy is n / 5 filed and survives reload in localStorage. Town screenshot 14 is the stash visual. Demo freeze is 2 May 2026. Full release is 26 August 2026. Controller category 28 is Full, not Partial. Steam Cloud is category 23. Save Anytime is 79. Family Sharing is 62. Deck overlay is buttons, fonts, and scaled maps from the launch note. No official keybind table exists, so this page does not print one.
